The Higher The Hair, The closer to god
Understanding hair from an intersectional perspective, the piece the Higher the Hair the closer to God, allegorizes how hair, once understood solely as a fashion statement, is also a signifier of class and gender. Dislocating traditional grooming techniques into a bourgeois ornament using undermined materials such as rope and tape into a chandelier piece, the project satirizes our relationship with notions of value and beauty in design and ourselves.
