The Higher The Hair, The closer to god

By looking at hair from an intersectional perspective, the piece the Higher the Hair the closer to God, allegorizes how hair grooming, often understood solely as a fashion statement, is also a constructed signifier of class and gender. Dislocating traditional grooming techniques into a bourgeois ornament using undermined materials such as rope and tape, the project satirizes our relationship with notions of value and beauty in design objects and ourselves.
