The Higher The Hair, The closer to god
Taking an intersectional perspective on hair, "The Higher the Hair, the Closer to God" allegorizes how hair grooming, often perceived merely as a fashion statement, actually serves as a constructed signifier of class and gender. The object dislocates traditional grooming techniques, transforming them into bourgeois ornaments through the use of undermined materials such as rope and tape satirizing our connection with notions of value and beauty, both in design objects and in ourselves.
